Five Schools Serving Maryland's Third Congressional District Win 2014 National Blue Ribbon Award

Schools Recognized for Academic Excellence and for Closing the Achievement Gap

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today announced that five schools serving Maryland's Third Congressional District – Cashell Elementary School in Rockville, Md.; Immaculate Conception School in Towson, Md.; Linthicum Elementary School in Linthicum, Md.; School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore, Md.; and Western School of Technology and Environmental Science in Baltimore, Md. – have been recognized for their scholastic achievements as 2014 National Blue Ribbon Schools.

Among the 337 public and private elementary schools, middle schools and high schools across America to receive this honor, Cashell Elementary School, Immaculate Conception School, Linthicum Elementary School, School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and Western School of Technology and Environmental Science have demonstrated an outstanding record of academic quality and have made important progress in closing the achievement gap.
