DEADLINE: Last Chance to Request a Mail Ballot

October 12, 2020

Dear Friend,

I wanted to remind you that if you want to receive a mail ballot for the 2020 general election, your request must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Tuesday, October 20.

The Maryland State Board of Elections has sent mail ballot applications to all registered voters in the state. (See here for a mail ballot application in English. See here for a mail ballot application in Spanish.) You can complete this application and return it to your local board of elections.

***Please Note: If you plan to return your ballot application by mail, the Maryland State Board of Elections recommends that you mail it by October 15 so that your application arrives at your local board of elections office by the October 20 deadline.***

If you have a Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration-issued ID or driver’s license, you can apply for a mail ballot online.

Once you apply for a mail ballot – either by mail or online – you can check the status of your ballot application request here.

After your ballot request gets approved, the Maryland State Board of Elections will send you a mail ballot. ***Please read the ballot instructions carefully and remember to sign and date the oath on the back of the return envelope after you have sealed your mail ballot.***
