Make It Count
Every 10 years, we conduct the decennial census to get a fair and accurate count of everyone living in the United States.
The census helps us allocate federal resources to Maryland – including funds for schools, community health clinics, affordable housing, roads and many other vital programs and services. The census also helps ensure that every Maryland community is fairly represented in Congress.
So far, our Congressional District’s response rate for the 2020 Census (67.4 percent) is slightly higher than Maryland’s response rate (65.4 percent) and the national response rate (61.4 percent). But we still have lots of work to do in order to ensure a full and accurate count.
The census is quick, easy and confidential.
