Sarbanes Announces $2.7 Million in Federal Funding for Maryland Health Centers

Grants from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Will Help Local Health Clinics Deliver High-Quality Care to Underserved Patients

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today announced that five health centers in Maryland will receive $2.7 million in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support primary care in underserved communities.

Grantees include Total Health Care and Health Care for the Homeless in Baltimore, as well as health centers in Bethesda, Frederick and Silver Spring.

"Community health centers provide quality care to thousands of low-income, medically underserved patients in Maryland‪," said Congressman Sarbanes. "Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, these invaluable health care providers can continue their important work helping Marylanders in need."
