Funding from the National Endowment of the Arts Will Support Arts Education, Local Arts Workshops, Community Art Productions and Other Related Programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today announced that the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) will provide more than $2.9 million in grant funding to organizations across Maryland that expand access to arts education and programming.

“Organizations in Maryland and around the country rely on the NEA to provide enriching and engaging opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy the arts,” said Congressman Sarbanes. “Research shows that every $1 of NEH funding brings in $9 of additional investment in the arts. Deep cuts to the NEA – as proposed by President Trump’s budget – would be disastrous to the arts in Maryland and around the country.”
