WASHINGTON, D.C. – At a House Health Subcommittee hearing today, Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) called on Congress to boost federal investments in mental health services across the country, especially as millions of Americans grapple with the health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.

“… We know the stress of [COVID-19] is like nothing we’ve seen before,” said Congressman Sarbanes. “It’s taking a huge toll on our healthcare workforce.”

Sarbanes continued: “We’ve got to address the stigma and we have to put the resources behind these efforts.”
