Sarbanes Meets with U.S. Postal Service District Manager Lora McLucas
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today issued the following statement following a meeting with Lora McLucas, the newly appointed U.S. Postal Service District Manager for the Baltimore region.
“As the Baltimore region continues to experience record backlog in mail delivery services, I am eager to see the plans discussed during my meeting with U.S. Postal Service District Manager Lora McLucas today put into action. With each passing day, these delays and incidents of lost mail threaten the health and livelihoods of many Marylanders. This ongoing crisis must be addressed immediately. I will continue to closely monitor this situation every day and keep in continued contact with Ms. McLucas and her team as they work to restore timely and reliable service to Maryland.”
For months, Congressman Sarbanes and his colleagues in the Maryland Congressional Delegation have been demanding reforms to the U.S. Postal Service in Baltimore. Last month, Congressman Sarbanes released a statement upon the appointment of new local leadership, including District Manager Lora McLucas.
