Sarbanes Named Vice Chair of House Health Subcommittee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today was formally named Vice Chair of the House Health Subcommittee by House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone (D-N.J.).

"Today, I'm proud to announce six outstanding and proven leaders to serve as the vice chairs of our six subcommittees. This experienced team stands ready to meet the moment and push an ambitious agenda to build back better with the Biden Administration," said Chairman Pallone. "Together, we will tackle the challenges of the pandemic, lower health care and prescription drug costs, address the urgent threat of climate change, rebuild our economy by modernizing our nation's infrastructure and protect consumers."

"I am deeply honored to serve as Vice Chair of the House Health Subcommittee," said Congressman Sarbanes, who spent decades helping hospitals and senior living providers deliver high-quality health care to Marylanders. "Working together with Chairman Pallone and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Eshoo, our subcommittee will continue to address the COVID-19 pandemic, speed up the equitable distribution of vaccines, provide critical relief to American families and lower the cost of health care and prescription drugs in every community across the country."
