WASHINGTON, D.C. – At a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing today, Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) called for increased wages, benefits and workplace protections for essential workers across America.
“We are learning lessons now that we need to carry with us when we get back to whatever the new normal is,” said Congressman Sarbanes. “Is that going to be a new normal that has the kinds of wages and benefits and workplace protections for this [essential] workforce that so many Americans have uncovered and come to know over the last two or three months?”
