Sarbanes Statement on House Passage of the Climate Action Now Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) released the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act:

“Today, House Democrats took an important step forward to address the climate crisis. H.R. 9 will uphold America’s commitment to the landmark Paris Agreement and reassert our global leadership in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. But we can’t stop there. My colleagues and I will continue to build on the momentum behind H.R. 9 and advance policies that lead us to a clean economy that benefits all Americans and that leaves our children and our grandchildren with a safer, healthier and more sustainable world.”
