WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) released the following video statement today in observance of Memorial Day:

“This is Congressman Sarbanes.

“Normally, on Memorial Day, I would be attending a ceremony at a Veterans Cemetery or some other memorial.

“Obviously, this year we cannot do that. But we pay tribute to and honor those who gave their lives in service to this country. We remember those who came home and have since passed on.

“And we say to the families who today are remembering a loved one who served this country: Thank you for the sacrifice that you made.

“May the memory of all those who fought for this country, and died for this country, be eternal.”
