Sarbanes Votes to Repeal President Trump’s Muslim Travel Ban

July 22, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today voted to pass the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants (NO BAN) Act (H.R. 2214), a bill to repeal President Trump's Muslim travel ban and prevent the Trump Administration from implementing other discriminatory travel bans.

"President Trump's Muslim travel ban cuts against our core American values," said Congressman Sarbanes, who has opposed the ban since it was first proposed in 2017 and has worked to overturn it for the last three years. "Today, we're taking steps to prevent the Trump Administration from continuing to carry out its anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant agenda. As a proud nation of immigrants, we know that our diversity is our strength."
