John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today announced the passage of the Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Watertrails Reauthorization Act (H.R. 2427), a bipartisan bill authored by Congressman Sarbanes to help enhance public access to the Chesapeake Bay.

The bill would admit of the State of Washington, D.C. into the Union and provide D.C. residents with full voting rights.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today voted to pass H.R. 2474, the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, a bill to strengthen workers’ rights and help them negotiate higher salaries, stronger workplace protections and improved benefits. The PRO Act would also penalize companies, managers and corporate executives who violate workers’ rights.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – At a House Economic and Consumer Policy Subcommittee hearing today, Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) highlighted the detrimental impacts of the Trump Administration’s proposed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which would leave 3.7 million Americans – including 15,000 Baltimore residents – hungry and take away free and reduced-priced lunch from nearly one million students across the country.
