Congressional Internships

An internship in a Congressional office can be a rewarding opportunity to learn directly about our nation's legislative process. Our office seeks hard-working and dedicated college students to telework as full-time and part-time interns throughout the year in support of Congressman Sarbanes' Columbia and Washington, D.C. offices.

If you are interested in applying for an internship, please submit a cover letter, a resume and a list of references to the address below or to employment@mail.house.gov. In the subject line, make sure to designate whether you are applying for a Columbia district office internship or a Washington, D.C. office internship.

Intern Guidelines


Congressman John Sarbanes office is seeking interns to work in-person with Columbia and Washington, D.C. staff performing constituent outreach, communications activities and legislative work.

Serving as an intern in a Congressional office is an exciting opportunity. You will be provided with firsthand experiences and will gain invaluable insight into the legislative process, the importance of casework and the value of constituent and community outreach.
